Escalator/ Travelator Engineer New Installation Training
The Escalator/Travelator Engineer New Installation Training is a specialized training program specifically designated for engineers who plan, supervise and coordinate within their total installation of escalators and travelling walks within their modern infrastructure projects. Unlike technicians who are installers, engineers will be interpreting the designs, coordinating the project work, quality control and ensuring the installations are compliant with international safety and performance standards. The course presents in depth understanding of the system design, truss set up & position, load calculations, align the mechanical and electrical components and installation of safety devices. Engineers will be trained to interpret and read architectural drawings and project schedule with coordination with contractors, architects and technicians in order to smoothly realise the execution of new installation projects.
There are many modules in the course including the mechanical assemblies of the escalator and travelator, installation of the step/pallet and handrail assembly, detailed description of the drive and control systems, and advanced devices for safety. Also covered were compliance with building codes, risk assessment and quality assurance and more. The practical training was focused on supervising the field installations with truss alignment checks, and step & handrail clearances with final safety checks prior to commissioning. It also covered preparation of project documentation, preparing technical reports and handover formalities. Upon completion of this training program, the participants will have a great level of technical information and management skills to be able to lead escalator and travelator projects of any size from initiation through to completion. With a rising level of construction today, escalator and travelator projects are also starting to have that same increase.
